José Luis Pérez Batlle and his teacher and mentor Dr John E. Upledger

After the death of Dr. John E. Upledger, who was his teacher and mentor, José Luis Pérez Batlle presented the paper “The Price of Bipedalism” at the “Beyond the Dura” Congress in Florida (USA) in 2012.

For him, this event was a tribute to his teacher and somehow, the beginning of the international dissemination of his particular vision of the next advance in Cranio-Sacral Therapy.

On September 19, 2014, he presented his work on the “Meningeal Approach” at the International Congress of Manual Therapy in Madrid (Expomasaje), to open the way for the dissemination of this teaching, which we firmly believe will be of great support to our patients.

Over the last few years, he has participated as a speaker at 16 congresses related to Manual Therapy – Osteopathy, as well as temporomandibular dysfunctions, and fibromyalgia.

He has collaborated closely with schools of nursing and physiotherapy of Bilbao, Barcelona, Madrid, Almería, Jaén, and Granada, by means of lectures and articles in magazines such as Ser Padres, Cycle Sport, or Natural, among others. He has also participated in radio and television interviews (ETV Forum Program in 2002), and in Panama in several informative programs, etc.

In 2014, José Luis Pérez Batlle founded the Pérez Batlle Institute as a center of continuous training with the purpose of disseminating his approach internationally.

This work was recognized and supported by Doctor John E. Upledger (creator of the Cranio-Sacral Therapy) and John Matthew Upledger, Director and Coordinator of the International Upledger and Barral Institutes.

Every year, the Institute organizes a wide variety of theoretical and practical training courses in Spain and abroad, aimed mainly at healthcare professionals and/or complementary therapies specialists, although they are also open to anyone who wishes to embrace this wonderful and highly effective way of understanding and promoting health.

The training follows a constructivist methodology so that the student learns through discovery and experience.

With José Luis Pérez Batlle as the main teacher, the professional will have a great opportunity to explore and practice the new concept at the hand of its discoverer.

From the first module, the student will achieve all the necessary bases to work effectively with their patients from the first day. In each module, the practitioner will continue to deepen their knowledge and practice in order to develop a complete understanding of this complex puzzle and master this new way of contemplating health.

You will gain a deeper understanding of the possible tensions and protective responses that the body has developed at each stage of the intrauterine process and labor, and how we will proceed to resolve them.

All the specific “listening stations” techniques are mainly aimed at harmonizing the aponeurotic, meningeal, and nervous systems, which are affected by the intrauterine process and labor. We will study, from an interpretative and therapeutic view of globality, the Meningeal System as a whole which is projected through the Peripheral Nervous System to the limbs.

The courses include all Meningeal, Aponeurotic, Myofascial, and Visceral Techniques, as well as models of understanding of anatomy and meningeal physiology, concepts of Isolation, the new model of Cranio-Sacral rhythm and TMJ, Retinal and Confrontation Techniques, etc.
